Position Overview University: Fresno State. Role: Temporary Faculty – Lecturer in Literacy, Early, Bilingual, and Special Education (LEBSE) Department. Location: Fresno, California. Position Summary Teach LEE or SPED courses in the LEBSE department. Course listings are available at for both LEE and SPED courses. Instructor Responsibility Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, and exams. Maintain scheduling commitments and deliver classes in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Adhere to university and system policies per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Conditional Appointment Appointment is contingent on budget, enrollment, and collective bargaining provisions (Order of Work). Requires eligibility to work in the United States and compliance with CSU requirements. Compensation Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, within the CSU Salary Schedule based on Class Code 2358. For a master’s degree holder the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month (15 WTUs). Salary is adjusted per WTUs assigned. Term of Appointment Part‑time lecturer pool is continuously open and positions are filled on an as‑needed basis. Applicants may need to commence teaching on short notice. The pool is maintained for two academic terms; renewal requires reapplication. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Literacy, Early Education, Bilingual Education, Special Education, or Multilingual‑Multicultural Education. Clear teaching credential (Multiple, Single Subject, PK‑3, or Education Specialist) or equivalent. For LEE courses: 100‑level requires a master’s; 200‑level requires a doctorate and 2‑3 years of Pre‑K‑12 teaching experience. For SPED courses: 200‑level requires a doctorate and 2‑3 years of Pre‑K‑12 teaching experience. Online instructors must be online certified and complete QLT training prior to teaching. Experience Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations. 2‑3 years of Pre‑K‑12 teaching experience. For PK‑3 credential holders: Master Teacher or higher‑level Child Development Permit and recent early childhood teaching experience aligned with California Preschool Learning Foundations and Curriculum Frameworks. Preferred Qualifications Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations. Successful undergraduate teaching experience. Active record of professional development for Pre‑K‑12 teachers. Experience teaching in a virtual environment.
