Overview
As part of the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Nursing offers a Baccalaureate in Science, Nursing, a Master's in Science, Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. The mission is to provide quality nursing education to undergraduate and graduate students.
Position Summary
The successful applicant will teach Practicum courses in Nursing. Courses include: Practicums in Medical/Surgical, Obstetric, or Pediatrics Nursing and other courses as needed to fulfill educational goals.
Instructor Responsibility
Temporary faculty are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies. Responsibilities include preparation, delivery, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled in the mode listed (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Conditional Appointment
Appointment is contingent upon budget, enrollment, and order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement. Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
Compensation
Commensurate with qualifications. Salary ranges are: $5,507–$6,677 per month for full‑time teaching (15 WTUs) for a Master's holder. Monthly salary adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated Semester
Positions are part of a continuously open temporary faculty pool. The pool is available for two academic terms; applicants may need to begin teaching on short notice.
Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026
Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Experience: Commitment to working effectively with diverse students; clinical experience in the identified clinical area.
Preferred Qualifications
Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.
Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Graduate Courses)
Commitment to teaching excellence at the graduate level.
National Certification in Family Nurse Practitioner.

NURS 267: Practicum in Secondary Prevention, Family Nurse Practitioner
Supervising graduate students in the clinical setting; complete student clinical evaluation and site evaluation.
NURS 278: Practicum in Tertiary Prevention, Family Nurse Practitioner
Supervising graduate students in the clinical setting; complete student clinical evaluation and site evaluation.
