Actuarial Developer (Hybrid set up) Swiss Re, Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain About the Job We’re looking for an Actuarial Developer with a passion for programming languages and Data Science to help transform our insurance solutions into the digital world across our focus markets: Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, and the UK. About the Role Join our engineering team and work side by side with software engineers, architects, project leaders, and management to transfer insurance solutions into the digital realm. You will play a key role in policy‑management, quote calculation, and product model development. Your Key Responsibilities Analyse calculation requirements for life & health products Transform product specifications into digital product models Configure, test, and document new life & health digital insurance product models Work side‑by‑side with engineers, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives About the Team The tech team leverages the latest enterprise technology and tools, pushing boundaries on every new project. We’re the software‑engineering engine behind a fast‑growing risk‑tech start‑up that helps millions of end users access affordable life insurance. The team is distributed across Switzerland, Spain, and Slovakia, and is known for strong collaboration and professionalism. About You You are an actuary with strong coding skills or a passion to learn programming. You thrive in a tight‑knit collaborative culture, communicate confidently in person, in writing, and online, and enjoy working within a diverse, inclusive environment. Qualifications Relevant actuarial education with knowledge of life and pension products or similar Minimum coding experience in Java, C#, or Python Good understanding of life and health products A passion for simplifying complex requirements and finding elegant solutions Interest in learning and applying modern development tools and techniques Willingness to work collaboratively in a team; team success matters most Enthusiasm for driving improvement by implementing solutions to new challenges Nice to Have Previous experience coding in Java or another application development language What We Offer We’re a scale‑up embedded in an organization known for its high‑caliber talent. Role For Spain, the base salary range for this position is EUR 42 000 – 70 000 for a full‑time role.
