We are looking for a talented Unix Administrator to join our team for a multinational leader in the banking sector located in Madrid. Key Responsibilities Ensure production stability – monitor, tune and troubleshoot the server park so that all services meet their SLA deadlines and remain available for end‑user operations. Drive process‑automation – design, script and implement automated workflows (e.g., provisioning, configuration management, patching, and compliance checks) that reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and improve repeatability across the whole fleet. Maintain high‑availability architectures – deploy, configure and support HA solutions (clustering, load‑balancing, fail‑over) to guarantee uninterrupted production services. Security & compliance – perform hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management in a timely, deadline‑oriented manner, ensuring that security controls never become a bottleneck for production. Adaptability & continuous learning – stay current with emerging tools (Ansible, Python, CI/CD, etc.) and be ready to pivot when production requirements evolve or new technologies are introduced. What we look for Proven expertise with Unix/Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu & Debian). Strong background in high‑availability technologies and process‑automation frameworks. Excellent communication and planning skills – you can translate technical details into clear actions for both technical and non‑technical audiences. A proactive mindset eager to learn, improve, and automate every repetitive task that touches the production line. Skills Essential: Advanced administration & troubleshooting on RHEL, Ubuntu & Debian in large‑scale environments (10 000 servers). Automation & scripting: Proven expertise with Ansible to build repeatable playbooks for provisioning, configuration, compliance and patching. Server‑side networking: VLANs, bonding, TCP/IP tuning, firewall rules, etc. High‑availability clustering: Hands‑on experience with Veritas Infoscale Foundation and OpenSVC. Additional automation platforms: Puppet (or similar). Desirable: Identity & access knowledge – Active Directory, Centrify. Desirable: Enterprise patch‑management tools – Satellite, Landscape. Desirable: CI/CD ecosystem familiarity – Jira, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, etc. Job Conditions & Benefits Permanent contract. Work mode: Hybrid, 4 days onsite per month (Madrid). Competitive salary.
