Position Details Job title: Assistant researcher Vacancies: one Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (morning/afternoon sessions) Remuneration: €1,643.99 gross per month (includes any extra payment) Responsibilities: Develop, study and evaluate automated image classification methods when training data is scarce, using machine and deep learning techniques and informed machine‑learning methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience and training related to the tasks listed above. Analysis of the state of the art in informed machine‑learning methodologies applied to computer vision. Knowledge representation mechanisms for integration with deep‑learning models (graphs, logical rules, mathematical formulation). Participation in the design and development of knowledge‑driven deep‑learning methodologies in informed machine‑learning. Application and validation of the developed methodologies in imaging analysis cases in biology. Comparison between informed and uninformed approaches and analysis of model explainability. Familiarity with CNNs, ViTs, CLIP models, contrastive learning, NLP, attention mechanisms, VAEs, LLMs, k‑NN, SVC, random forest, k‑means clustering and PCA. Knowledge of Catalan. Official Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7) or equivalent.
