We’re looking for a Compliance Partner to own and lead employee relations and compliance matters at Manychat. This is a senior, hands‑on individual contributor role. You will be responsible for managing complex compliance cases, leading involuntary terminations, and proactively reducing people‑related legal risks across the company. You’ll work closely with People Partners, HRA, Total Rewards, and report to the PeopleOps Lead. You bring a strong legal mindset to people matters, with a focus on defensible decision‑making, consistency, and risk mitigation. Serve as the primary owner of people‑related legal risk, ensuring decisions are compliant, well‑documented, and defensible if challenged. Compliance & Employee Relations Own and manage all compliance cases, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee complaints, and misconduct. Lead and conduct investigations together with People Partners, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal soundness. Define investigation plans, participate in interviews, document outcomes, and recommend actions. Act as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations situations. Evaluate termination risk exposure and determine when escalation to Legal or external counsel is required. Involuntary Terminations & Legal Risk Management Lead all involuntary terminations to minimize legal and reputational risks. Assess and determine appropriate approaches (performance vs misconduct, PIP vs immediate termination). Ensure proper documentation, timelines, approvals, and consistency across cases. Partner with HRA on local employment law requirements and execution. Collaborate with Total Rewards on severance, compensation, and benefits‑related aspects. Participate in complex termination conversations when needed. Conduct post‑termination risk assessments and recommend mitigation actions. Own, develop, and continuously improve key people policies (Code of Conduct, Anti‑Harassment, Disciplinary, Termination, Complaints). Ensure policies are up to date, compliant with local laws, and aligned with company values. Translate policies into practical playbooks and decision frameworks for managers and People Partners. Regularly review policies to identify gaps and emerging risks. Identify early signals and trends that may lead to compliance risks. Analyze data from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and recurring complaints. Build compliance risk overviews and share insights with People Leadership. Partner with PeopleOps and People Analytics to support data‑informed decisions. Enablement & Education Enable People Partners with clear guidance on compliance handling and escalation. Train managers on compliant performance management, documentation, and difficult conversations. Run office hours and consultations to address risks before they escape into cases. International & Legal Coordination Navigate employment law across multiple regions, quickly adapting to new locations as we expand. Partner with HRA and external legal counsel when needed to ensure local compliance. Help define global compliance principles with appropriate local adaptations. Experience partnering closely with Legal teams or acting as a legal liaison on people matters. Strong ability to assess legal exposure and articulate risk trade‑offs to business leaders. Proven experience handling employee relations and compliance cases in an international environment. Strong practical understanding of employment law, with the ability to quickly adapt to new jurisdictions. Hands‑on experience leading investigations and involuntary terminations. Ability to balance legal risk, fairness, and business needs. High level of discretion, judgment, and integrity. Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leaders and managers. Comfortable working independently and owning complex topics end‑to‑end. Experience partnering with HR, People Partners, Legal, and leadership teams. Fluent English; additional languages are a plus. Here’s how we care about your growth, well‑being, and comfort: Competitive salary aligned with market benchmarks and your experience. Professional development budget for learning, training, or certifications. Flexible benefits plan tailored to your needs. Private health insurance reimbursement for you and your family.
