ppJoin Impress – Europe’s Leading Health-Tech Innovator! /p h3Dental Annotation Specialist /h3 pWe are seeking a detail-oriented bDental Annotation Specialist /b with a dental background to join our computer vision team. You will use CVAT (Computer Vision Annotation Tool) to label complex dental imaging data. Your understanding of tooth morphology, pathology, and 3D dental anatomy is critical to training our AI models for diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative dentistry. /p ul liWork with an international and multicultural team /li liTeeth aligner and whitening benefits /li liCollaborative work environment and positive culture /li liOpportunities to grow within a fast-paced, innovative company and real start-up experience with big challenges /li liFresh fruits and healthy snacks at the office /li /ul h3What You'll Do: /h3 h3Image 3D Scan Annotation (CVAT) /h3 ul liUse advanced CVAT features (polygons, masks, bounding boxes, and cuboids) to annotate 2D X-rays (OPTG/Panoramic, CBCT slices) and 3D data (optical scans from iTero, 3Shape, and CBCT volumes). /li liPerform semantic instance segmentation of teeth, restorations, caries, implants, nerves (mandibular canal), and pathologies. /li /ul h3Dental-Specific Tasks /h3 ul liOPTG (Panoramic Radiographs): Segment individual teeth (by FDI/Universal numbering system), identify impacted teeth, cysts, and bone loss. /li liCBCT: Label axial, coronal, and sagittal views; segment root canals, maxillary sinuses, and alveolar bone. /li li3D Optical Scans (iTero, 3Shape): Annotate scan meshes – separate teeth from gingiva, mark margins of crowns/bridges, and label malocclusion features. /li liIntraoral Photos: Annotate gingival recessions, caries lesions, and tooth discoloration using polygon tools. /li /ul h3Quality Assurance Consistency /h3 ul liCreate, update, and manage detailed annotation guidelines to ensure standardized labeling and clarify edge cases for the annotation team. /li liFollow annotation guidelines (e.g., “label each tooth from 1-32,” “do not include restorations in the tooth mask”). /li liReview and correct annotations from non-dental annotators. /li liFlag ambiguous cases (e.g., differentiating enamel vs. composite on an optical scan). /li liWork with AI engineers to refine labeling taxonomies (e.g., distinguish "caries into dentin" vs. "caries into enamel"). /li liProvide feedback on CVAT plugin features needed for dental 3D data (e.g., slice synchronization for CBCT). /li /ul h3Dental background (any of the following): /h3 ul liCertified Dental Assistant (CDA) with 2+ years of chairside experience. /li liRegistered Dental Hygienist (RDH). /li liDental student or graduate (DDS/DMD/BDS). /li liOrthodontic background best suited /li /ul h3Technical skills: /h3 ul li1+ year experience with CVAT, Supervisely, or Labelbox (specifically polygon mask segmentation). /li liAbility to interpret OPTG, CBCT, and intraoral 3D scans. /li liBasic understanding of segmentation (pixel-level vs. bounding box). /li /ul pSoft skills: High attention to anatomical detail, patience for repetitive tasks, ability to follow strict guidelines. /p h3Nice to have: /h3 ul liFamiliarity with DICOM and STL/PLY file formats. /li liExperience with 3D annotation in CVAT (using orthographic views or point clouds). /li liKnowledge of dental numbering systems (FDI, Universal, Palmer). /li liPrevious work on AI training data for restorative or orthodontic AI (e.g., Diagnocat, Overjet, Pearl, Orca Dental). /li /ul pAt Impress we cultivate a culture of inclusion and diversity.
