Procurement Manager Velto Renewables (Velto), a subsidiary of La Caisse (Caisse de Dépôt et Placement de Québec), is looking for a Procurement Manager to join its team in Madrid, Spain, and work closely with the Head of PMO (Project Management Office) . Velto owns and operates more than 130 solar photovoltaic projects in Spain and France, with a total installed capacity exceeding 607 MW. These assets generate over 936 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to power more than 266,000 homes, while avoiding over 77,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. Additionally, Velto provides asset management services for La Caisse’s 25% investment in the London Array, one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms. Located 20 km off the coast of Kent, this 630 MW project produces over 2,300 GWh annually, preventing 287,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each yea r. Reporting directly to the Head of PMO, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for centralizing, standardizing, and optimizing all purchasing activities across Velto's organization, ensuring operational continuity for our renewable assets while driving cost efficiency and vendor excellen ce. Responsibili ties 1. Company-Wide Procurement Responsib ilityManage all company purchases, including operations, maintenance, finance, legal, IT, consulting, and serv ices.Ensure all departments follow a centralized and controlled procurement pro cess.Standardize purchasing practices across the organiza tion. 2. Operations & Maintenance S upportEnsure materials, spare parts, and services are always available to prevent operational dow ntime.Support maintenance teams with timely purchasing aligned with O&M sche dules.Secure critical supplies to guarantee the continuous operation of renewable a ssets. 3. Vendor Qualif icationIdentify reliable suppliers for all company needs.Verify vendor quality, certifications, financial stability, and relevant expe rience.Ensure only qualified vendors are used across all depar tments. 4. Vendor Ma nagementMaintain and manage supplier relationships compa ny-wide.Monitor vendor performance (quality, cost, delivery, s ervice).Resolve issues and replace underperforming vendors as needed. 5. Purchasing & Cos t ControlCompare quotations and negotiate the best prices and payme nt terms.Ensure cost efficiency and strict adherence to budget control.Avoid unnecessary spending while maintaining quality and servic e levels. 6. Order & Delivery ManagementIssue and manage purcha se orders.Track deliveries and ensure timeline s are met.Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers. Education and experienceBachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management; Excellent command of written and spoken English a nd Spanish; 5-8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with a focus on industrial or ener gy sectors; 2+ years of relevant experience within the renewable energy industry (solar PV, wind , or BESS); Desirable experience with ERP systems (MSFT Dynamics, SAP, Navision) for purchase order management; Desirable experience in vendor qualification and contract n egotiation.
