Engineer, Mechanical DesignDate: Apr 13, 2026General OverviewFunctional Area: EngineeringCareer Stream: Design Engineering MechanicalSAP Short Name: ENG-ENG-DMEJob Level: Level 07IC/MGR: Individual ContributorDirect/Indirect Indicator: IndirectDetailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:- Work independently to design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies. May also solve complex problems in cooperation with a team of other engineers.- Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.- Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.G. Sketch and draw up designs using input from other engineers, requirements and input from design review (DFx) team- Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards- Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review.- Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines- Provide support during the manufacturing process- Finalize designs and send prints to the production departmentPhysical Demands- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.- Repetitive manual movements (e.G., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.- Occasional travel may be required.Typical Experience- 1 to 3 years of related experienc; Experience in similar job rolesTypical EducationBachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.Educational Requirements may vary by GeographyNotesThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
