Genomics Laboratory Technician Feb 27, 2026 We are hiring a highly motivated and experienced Genomics Laboratory Technician to support and lead key experimental activities within our R&D and external scientific projects, with a strong emphasis on genomics and particularly cell-free RNA sequencing . This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, autonomy in experimental execution, and the ability to contribute to process optimization and laboratory best practices. About us Flomics is a fast‑growing biotech company founded in 2018 in Barcelona. We are developing a revolutionary liquid biopsy test for the early detection of cancer, based on the analysis of cell‑free RNA in blood. By combining cutting‑edge genomics with advanced bioinformatics and machine learning, we’re identifying novel biomarker signatures that can transform diagnostics. Our goal: make cancer detection simple, scalable and possible from just a single blood sample. What we are looking for A degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus), or equivalent experience. A minimum of 4 years hands‑on experience in a molecular biology laboratory. Extensive experience working with RNA, particularly low‑input or challenging samples, and magnetic bead‑based library preparation protocols. Demonstrated experience as a laboratory manager or in a role with responsibility for laboratory organisation. Strong attention to detail and high standards for experimental rigor and reproducibility. Excellent organizational, documentation, and reporting skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high‑performance team. Professional working proficiency in English. What will give you extra points Experience with: Cell‑free RNA workflows. Automated systems for liquid handling, and nucleic acid extraction and processing. Next‑generation sequencing platforms and workflows. Liquid biopsy and/or molecular oncology. Method optimization and protocol development. Working in GMP and/or ISO‑accredited environments. Your responsibilities Implement the company’s proprietary cell‑free RNA sequencing workflows to process and sequence clinical samples. Perform a range of molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, library preparation and qPCR, in projects with clients and external collaborators. Maintain quality standards to ensure the consistent generation of high quality data. Ensure efficient laboratory organization, proactively managing requirements such as inventory control, ordering, and equipment maintenance. Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and SOPs. Maintain documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards. Present results and project progress in internal meetings, and with clients and external collaborators. What we offer A full‑time position based in Barcelona.
