DescriptionUnder the general direction of the I&O SRE & Technical Process Manager, the Edge Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement in uptime, availability, reliability, massive automation, and the evolution of systems to enhance customer experience. He / She collaborates closely with peers in Digital Engineering, Applications, Operations, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Process Management, and Global SRE to drive service evolution. The outcome is robust operational capabilities combined with product evolution that delivers results for the business.The Edge SRE is also responsible for the availability of digital applications, whether in the cloud or on-premises. He / She may spend approximately 50% of their time in hands-on operations within Product Teams for SLO attainment, with the remaining time engaging in design debates, automation, postmortem processes, influencing operations and release processes, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, including Chaos engineering and DR planning.ResponsibilitiesGuarantee system uptime, focusing on availability to meet SLA, SLO, and SLI.Define and adapt metrics (SLI/SLO) as applications evolve, identifying projects that yield cost savings or revenue growth.Support problem management and root cause analysis, promoting error budget control, blameless postmortems, and security incident protocols.Maintain a strong relationship with security and operations teams to support security assessments, patching, vulnerability management, secrets management, and compliance.Define release strategies, including version control, naming conventions, testing, and release guidelines.Contribute to demand assessment, providing technical validation and ensuring reliability considerations are integrated.Engage in continuous improvement, chaos engineering, review runbooks, and support business continuity and DR planning.Participate in communication strategies, report on technical trends, and assist in training new SREs.Maintain and review the technology solutions catalog and provide early engagement consulting on architectures and design choices.Position requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field, preferably with AWS or other cloud certifications, with experience in devops, cloud solutions, scalability, and capacity management. Skills should include automation tools, scripting, source control, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management, with proficiency in at least one major cloud provider. Knowledge of network, security, virtualization, containerization, and monitoring tools is also essential.Language requirements are English and Spanish, with occasional international travel. Other preferred skills include knowledge of network/security technologies, converged infrastructure, VOIP, identity management, distributed systems, databases, and disaster recovery tools.
