Role Description: We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Silicon & Refractories Team on-site in Madrid. The successful candidate will focus on the following key responsibilities: Conducting finite element simulations of the thermal segments of our energy storage system. Assisting with industrial-scale laboratory work to validate and refine these simulations across various prototypes and testing sets. Collaborating and maintaining a constant feedback flow with manufacturers, part suppliers, and research institutions. Producing internal reports and scientific articles , as well as participating in international conferences. This role is pivotal in optimising Silbat's Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) technology and advancing the field of energy storage. Qualifications: PhD in physics, chemistry, material engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, nuclear engineering, energy engineering, or related fields. Experience: Proven experience in finite element simulations (e.G., ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics). Experience in simulating thermal phenomena. Background in thermal energy-related simulations. Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Additionally Valued Experience: Experience in the refractory materials and foundry industries. Background in industrial-scale prototype testing.
