The Role As a Pre-Sales / Sales Enginee r, you will own the technical and functional solutioning for our strategic enterprise deals. Working as a key liaison between Sales, Product, and Engineering, you will navigate complex technical environments (APIs, Webhooks, CRMs, POS integrations) to architect highly tailored, viable solutions that solve a retailer's business goals. This role balances high-impact technical delivery with strategic sales enablement. You will be directly measured on accelerating revenue velocity, optimizing RFP efficiency, and maintaining a near-zero post-sale technical mismatch rate. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical & Functional Solutioning Architect Proposals : Lead the design and preparation of accurate, comprehensive technical/functional proposals aligned with our modular capabilities. Advanced Product Demos : Conduct and lead tailored, high-impact product demonstrations showing how our product works. Resolve Client Doubts : Act as the primary technical point of contact during the sales cycle to resolve prospective clients' high-level technical, feature, and integration doubts. Proof of Concept (POC) Ownership : Collaborate with Sales to fully define, scope, document, and execute successful POCs. 2. Proposal, Bid, & Documentation Management RFI/RFP Responses: Review, analyze, and own the technical/functional response documents for enterprise RFIs and RFPs, consulting with Product and Integrations teams to ensure complete accuracy. Centralized Knowledge Assets : Maintain and scale a centralized pre-sales repository. Generate updated feature decks, solution architecture diagrams, and proposal templates reflecting new product releases and API updates. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration (RACI Best Practices) To drive efficiency and prevent friction, this role operates under strict RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) boundaries. Sales Enablement: Empower Account Executives by leading regular internal training sessions on core modules and updated product messaging, boosting initial client engagement. Product & Integration Liaison: Act as the strategic loop translating client needs back to Product and Engineering, while ensuring that whatever solution is sold is 100% technically viable post-sales. Process Standardization: Contribute directly to standardizing a demand-management workflow for all incoming pre-sales requests (e.g., Deep Dives, POCs, Ad-Hoc Proposals). Requirements & Qualifications. Experience: +3 years of experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect selling complex B2B SaaS enterprise software, preferably within the Retail, Grocery, MarTech, or FinTech sectors. Technical Domain: Strong technical literacy in cloud-native infrastructures (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), AI Tooling (Claude, Gemini, ChapGPT), REST APIs, real-time webhooks, SDKs, and data ecosystems (e.g., BigQuery, CRMs, and complex POS systems). Communication Master: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of translating complex technical concepts into business value for C-level executives and non-technical stakeholders. Project Delivery: Demonstrated hands-on experience owning projects end-to-end, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional resources across Product, Engineering, and Revenue. Languages: Proficient/Fluent in both English and Spanish. Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical enterprise experience.
