Descripción de la oferta

What we do & why it mattersAt ColorSensing, we build technology to transform how food quality and safety are monitored in real supply chains. Today, a large part of food waste and many safety margins exist because what happens inside a package cannot be measured in a simple, scalable and objective way.Our solution uses color-changing chemical sensors embedded in packaging and turns their response into reliable digital data through computer vision, color science, computer vision and patented algorithms. This allows manufacturers and retailers to move from indirect estimations to direct, objective measurements, reducing uncertainty, improving decision-making and ultimately helping to reduce food waste and improve food safety.About the role & key responsibilitiesYou will join the development team and contribute to the evolution of our smart label technology, from laboratory-scale formulation to industrial validation. This role combines hands-on chemistry, applied research, and product-oriented development, with direct exposure to prototyping, regulatory activities, and industrial testing.Your responsibilities will include:●     Synthesis, formulation, and laboratory-scale printing of intelligent sensor inks, and their chemical and physical characterization.●     Analysis of sensor response, identification of performance limitations, and definition and execution of improvement strategies.●     Active participation in the definition and execution of industrial printing trials (e.g. flexography or related techniques) and tests on food packaging lines, in collaboration with food manufacturers and printing partners.●     Contribution to the development and potential initiation of new colorimetric chemical sensors, from early research to proof-of-concept validation.●     Collaboration in the design, coordination, and follow-up of regulatory and migration testing, working closely with external laboratories and internal teams.●     Active involvement in prototyping activities, especially in advanced or near-final prototypes.●     Continuous state-of-the-art review related to food packaging, colorimetric sensors, intelligent inks, and improvement of the company’s internal technical knowledge base.●     Participation in technical meetings with external stakeholders (industrial partners, labs, collaborators).●     Close collaboration with the data and computer vision team to ensure correct sensor behavior, data quality, and the generation of reliable calibration models.●     Support in technical documentation, internal reporting, and patent-related activities, when required.Technical requirementsYou have a strong interest in applied research and product development, and you enjoy seeing laboratory work translated into real-world applications.●     Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).●     Solid experience working in a chemistry laboratory.●     Ability to design and conduct experiments, analyze data and results, and communicate conclusions clearly.●     Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g.: Python, Origin) and scientific documentation tools is a plus.●     Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills●     Organized, committed, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environmentNice to have●     Development of printing inks (formulation, additives, pigments, binders).●     Chemical sensors, including synthesis and response characterization.●     Applied research aimed at developing or testing new sensors.●     Prototyping, scalability considerations, or transition from lab to pilot/industrial scale. What we offer●     Full-time position (37.5 h/week) with flexible working hours●     On-site laboratory work at Universitat de Barcelona (L3, Palau Reial) and at StartUB.●     25 days of paid vacation●     Immediate incorporation●     Gross salary depending on experience●     Training and development opportunities, be proactive and ask for what you need ●     Entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary environment with real ownership of your work and the opportunity to grow with the company.Send the candidatures to people@color-sensing.com with “Job Offer Product Developer Chemist - Name”.
