As a Design Electrical/Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, and add new services. You will be the "go to" engineering resource for these projects, providing lifecycle support from design through implementation.ResponsibilitiesPerform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline.Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. Be detail‑ and data‑oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes.Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants. Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction, and Design).A Day in the LifeEach day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers. You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, and we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.Professional Engineer License.Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
