h3bLocation: /b Barcelona, SpainbrbDepartment: /b Project Executionbr/h3h3bAbout the Role /b /h3pAPM Terminals Barcelona is undertaking a multiyear infrastructure and equipment‑upgrade program, including major civil and electrical engineering works in one of the most operationally intensive areas of the Port of Barcelona. /ppbrWithin this context, the bProject HSSE Supervisor /b plays a key role in safeguarding Health, Safety, Security and Environment standards across all construction interfaces, ensuring compliance, operational discipline, and a strong “Safety First” mindset. /ppThis role requires a bhigh‑visibility, field‑based presence /b, supporting contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure safe execution of all project activities. /ph3bKey Responsibilities /b /h3ulliMaintain continuous bon‑site supervision /b to verify compliance with HSSE rules, procedures and project requirements. /liliLead daily walkthroughs, identify unsafe behaviours/conditions and ensure immediate corrective actions. /liliOversee high‑risk activities such as excavations, lifting operations, hot work, electrical activities, diving, drilling and heavy‑machinery operations. /liliReview and control HSSE documentation (RAMS, Method Statements, JSA) and audit the Permit to Work system. /liliSupport bcontinuous improvement /b actions and monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls. /liliCoordinate emergency drills and verify readiness of firefighting, lifesaving and first‑aid equipment. /liliSupport incident investigations and develop professional, root‑cause‑based reports. /liliEnsure full compliance with the Environmental Monitoring Plan, including waste management and good environmental practices. /liliMaintain strong communication with the Project HSSE Manager, Terminal HSSE Team, Construction Supervision and Contractors. /li /ulh3bLean Culture Ways of Working /b /h3pAs part of APM Terminals’ continuous‑improvement approach, this role requires: /pulliA strong bLean Mindset /b focused on eliminating waste, identifying improvement opportunities and promoting efficient, safe processes. /liliActive participation in bLean Culture rituals /b, ensuring standardisation, problem‑solving discipline, visual management and operational excellence in field activities. /liliEngagement in bLean /b, fostering learning, collaboration and development of practical Lean capabilities within the project team. /li /ulh3bQualifications Experience /b /h3ulli3–5 years of field safety‑supervision experience in construction, port infrastructure or large civil‑engineering environments. /liliDeep understanding of Spanish Regulatory Framework (Ley 31/1995, RD 1627/1997, CAE, PSS). /liliExperience coordinating with multiple contractors in dynamic, high‑risk environments. /liliStrong stakeholder‑management, communication and technical‑interpretation skills. /li /ulh3bWhat We Offer /b /h3ulliWork on one of the most significant port‑modernisation projects in Spain. /liliGrowth opportunities in HSSE roles at national and international level. /liliExposure to complex engineering, maritime operations and project‑execution environments. /li /ulpMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
