Institution
ALBA is the Spanish synchrotron light source, a large research infrastructure operating ten beamlines, complementary facilities, and an Electron Microscopy Center in partnership with other institutions. It is located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain) and is funded by the Spanish Government and the Catalan Government. The synchrotron light produced by 3 GeV electrons is used by thousands of researchers to analyse and understand the properties and functionality of matter across a wide range of scientific fields.
Job Overview
CELLS is looking for a technician to operate the Radiofrequency (RF) Laboratory within the Radiofrequency Group of ALBA, in the Accelerator Division. The position is funded by the EU RF 2.0 project, which focuses on designing, developing and validating novel solutions to make particle accelerators more sustainable and energy efficient.
Responsibilities
Operate instruments to perform RF measurements.
Prepare measurement protocols.
Process acquired data and prepare measurement reports.
Characterise RF components and systems.
Perform general maintenance tasks at the laboratory, such as keeping order and managing stocks and spare parts.
Requirements
Completion of a higher technical education cycle (CFGS) or being a degree student with 85% of the credits fulfilled in Physics or Engineering (electronics, telecommunications, mechanics or similar).
English language proficiency equivalent to B1 level.
Familiarity with radiofrequency technology, electronics, software programming, and instrumentation is desirable.
Other Information
Temporary position until the end of the EU Project, expected on 31 December 2026.
