About the School-The British School of Barcelona (Castelldefels): The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderful location. We are an HMCschool and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas) inspection to be outstandingin every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academicoutcomes. BSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, and we offer a wide range of GCSEs, A levels and the InternationalBaccalaureate Diploma, all alongside a significant enrichment programme. Over 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 315 staff work atBSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the city of Barcelona – in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary and Pre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan townof Sitges, where we have another Primary campus. BSB City is in the heart of the city ofBarcelona itself with a Foundation campus (built September 2021), and a brand-new maincampus which opened in September 2023. The growth of the school has been accompanied by significant investment over recent years,including the building of a state-of–the art Pre-University Centre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugbyand football pitch, dedicated STEM facilities and the new BSB City campuses. About the Role: We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time Teacher of Maths starting in August 2026. The position will be based in our Castelldefels campus. The school offers IGCSE Maths and Further Pure Maths, Pearson International A Level and both the IBDP Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation courses. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching these levels successfully and be adept at delivering engaging lessons that foster understanding and enthusiasm for the subject. A strong foundation in mathematics is essential, and experience with examination boards and curriculum frameworks is highly valued. The school places great emphasis on extracurricular activities, including various mathematical competitions and clubs, and seeks an individual willing to contribute to and enhance these initiatives. Our campus boasts exceptional facilities, including dedicated mathematics classrooms equipped with advanced resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning. The Role Deliver engaging and challenging lessons to all key stages that link with the real world and which are aligned with department schemes of work. Assist in the process of curriculum development and delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality curriculum program at all key stages. Use homework and assessments to monitor and track pupil progress. Identify and support underachieving students and challenge the high achievers, implementing intervention as needed. Provide feedback and communicate effectively with parents, ensuring that both the student and parents are aware of student strengths and targets, across the year. Work collaboratively with the members of the department to ensure this thriving department continues to improve. Work with colleagues and members of the SLT to ensure that the school improvement plan priorities are effectively implemented. Who We Are Looking For: You are an enthusiastic, reflective, and resilient teacher who brings passion for your subject and a genuine belief in every student’s potential. You have experience teaching across secondary key stages and hold a bachelor’s degree with QTS (or international equivalent).
