ppbAim high, go beyond! /b /p pAt Open Cosmos we are solving the world’s biggest challenges from space, providing businesses, governments and researchers access to more readily available information than ever before - ready for the challenge? Then read on… /p h3About the team /h3 pYou’ll be joining our Dependability Thermal Team, part of the wider Systems Team at Open Cosmos. /p pOur Systems Team brings together experts across systems, AOCS, and thermal engineering to design, integrate, and optimise every element of our satellites—from overall architecture down to the detail of each subsystem. They own the journey from early concept through to launch and operations, making sure everything fits, works, and performs in orbit. /p pWithin this, the Dependability Thermal Team is responsible for ensuring our systems are reliable, resilient, and built to last. We lead on reliability engineering, radiation assessment, and thermal analysis, as well as the tools and processes that underpin them. Our goal is simple: to make sure every system and subsystem is designed, validated, and operated to deliver consistent performance throughout the mission lifecycle. /p h3What You'll Be Doing /h3 pIn this role you’ll play a role in leading RAMS activities across programmes, shaping how we design for reliability and resilience while influencing system architecture and key engineering decisions. /p pThis includes: /p ul lipLeading RAMS strategy across missions, ensuring our systems are designed for reliability from day one /p /li lipOwning reliability engineering across programmes, from concept through to in-orbit operations /p /li lipDefining how we approach radiation, fault tolerance, and system resilience at an architectural level /p /li lipDriving FMEA and FDIR approaches across the organisation, ensuring consistency and quality /p /li lipActing as a key voice in design reviews, influencing decisions that balance performance, risk, and cost /p /li lipWorking directly with customers, partners, and suppliers on mission-critical topics /p /li lipIdentifying risks early and shaping solutions at system and programme level /p /li lipContinuously improving how we do RAMS; tools, processes, and standards /p /li lipSupporting and mentoring other engineers, helping build capability across the team /p /li /ul h3What You’ll Bring /h3 ul lipDeep technical understanding of reliability, systems, or electronics engineering /p /li lipThe ability to lead complex work and influence decisions across teams /p /li lipStrong systems thinking, you see how everything connects and where risks sit /p /li lipConfidence operating in ambiguity and making sound engineering judgements /p /li lipThe ability to communicate clearly and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders /p /li lipStrong analytical capability, backed by a structured and pragmatic approach /p /li lipFamiliarity with RAMS tools, methods, and standards, or equivalent experience in high-reliability environments /p /li lipA mindset focused on improving systems, processes, and outcomes—not just delivering tasks /p /li /ul pFor this role you can be based in any of our locations. /p pTo apply, you must have the legal right to work in your chosen location. /p pPlease submit your application in English. /p h3Why Open Cosmos? /h3 ul lipWork at the cutting edge of space technology with customers around the globe. /p /li lipA mission-driven company making space accessible to help solve real-world challenges. /p /li lipA diverse, ambitious, and supportive team. /p /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
