Experteer Overview
In this role you will lead field service operations for 4-stroke marine engines and propulsion systems, acting as the on-site technical authority to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. You own major overhauls, oversee commissioning of new installations, and guide cross-functional teams and subcontractors. You will travel extensively to support global activities, maintain safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery. This position supports Wärtsilä’s mission to enable sustainable maritime solutions through technology and services.

• Lead and supervise field service operations for mechanical works on 4-stroke engines and propulsion systems
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities at customer sites
• Own major overhauls including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of critical components
• Execute and lead commissioning and start-up activities for new installations
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to field service teams and subcontractors on-site
• Act as the main technical interface with customers, ensuring clear communication and high service standards
• Work across Diesel, Gas, and Dual Fuel 4-stroke engines
• Troubleshoot and maintain propulsion systems (CPP, Thrusters, Waterjets)
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures
• Travel extensively (up to 80%) to support global field service activities
• Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and recommendations for continuous improvement
Responsabilidades
• Extensive hands-on experience with 4-stroke engines (Diesel, Gas, Dual Fuel), ideally in marine environments
• Proven track record in leading overhauls, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams on-site and manage complex service projects independently
• Strong expertise in marine propulsion systems (CPP, thrusters, waterjets)
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Solid customer-facing experience, with the ability to build trust and manage expectations
• High level of ownership, accountability, and safety awareness
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Willingness and flexibility to travel globally (approx. 80%)
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural and cross-functional environments
