Hello! Do you want to help us redefine how AI powers the future of Business Management software, not as an add-on, but as a core part of how people work, decide and grow? We're looking for a Senior/Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team in the Platform Domain. Ready to be part of the challenge? About the team We're a team of 200+ Product Engineers building Business Management solution that actually works for the people using it. Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically. Our Infrastructure team’s mission is to keep the Factorial application running 24/7, ensure its performance, scalability and security, as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers. What are we looking for? - 8+ years of Software/Systems Engineering experience, with 5+ years as Cloud SRE - Solid experience monitoring and troubleshooting large-scale cloud deployments - Hands-on with Terraform or Ansible for IaC - Observability experience with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry - Proficiency with AWS or Azure - Someone able to debug issues in Kubernetes clusters - Experience managing large MySQL clusters with HA configuration - Someone who breaks down complex problems into clear, shareable elements - Someone who enjoys mentoring and helping others grow - Someone who can communicate professionally in English ⚠ Please note this is not a backend or frontend Software Engineering role. What You’ll be doing? - As a Staff Engineer you’ll lead technical discussions and provide guidance to more junior engineers on best practices and coding standards. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features. - Identify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions. - You will be a product-centric engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output. About the outcome, you’ll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain. - You will review code, and get feedback on your own code. - You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality. - You will share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring programme or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands. How We Work (Barcelona Office) At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That’s why our Engineering Teams follows an office-first, flexible approach. We work on-site four days a week, using that time to connect, align, and innovate as a team. However, we also understand the importance of focus and flexibility, so we support remote work when it makes sense - whether for deep work, personal needs, or just a change of scenery. This balance helps us stay agile, creative, and closely connected, while giving everyone the space to do their best work. At Factorial we don't evaluate you by the years of experience you have, we evaluate your knowledge and skills. How? We have a Career Path with a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know at which level you're right now and what you need to keep growing. As we love transparency, our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure we're aligned. The hiring process 1. Intro Call → Chat with our Talent Partner about your journey, current goals. We’ll be comparing our expectations and making sure we match on a human level. 2. Hiring Manager Interview → We’ll deep dive into your product mindset, teamwork, and problem-solving. Similarly to the first one, this is about making sure we are a fit and can work together. 3. Technical Interview with our Factorial engineers. We'll provide an incident situation and we expect you to guide us through it like you normally would. 4. One last coffee-chat with our VP of Engineering, where you can get all the answers about Factorial’s culture, business vision, or anything else that interests you. The whole process is remote, using videoconferencing tools! About Factorial Factorial is the AI for Business that knows companies, connects how work happens across the business, and turns that context into action. Founded in Barcelona in 2016, we now have +1,700 employees serving more than 16,000 companies across 112 countries. Factorial started with a simple idea: companies were spending too much time managing processes and not enough time doing the work they were hired to do: their best work. But as companies grow, work gets more disconnected. More people, more tools, more information, and more time spent connecting the dots. Generic AI can answer questions, but it doesn’t know your company. Every time, you have to give it the context. Factorial is different. Because it’s inside the company, it already knows how it works, including its people, processes, policies, and data. So you can ask it to do real work, from screening candidates and managing expenses to answering questions and creating reports. AI isn’t the goal. Giving people back their time is. When work changes, so do we. We believe in diverse talent: we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and strongly encourage people of diverse experiences and identities to apply. We believe in inclusion: we are committed to equal opportunities and actively promote workplace inclusion of people with disabilities. If you would like to learn more about our inclusive recruitment processes, you are welcome to indicate so optionally and we will share additional information with you. Our Values - We own it: We take responsibility for every project. We make decisions, not excuses. - We learn and teach: We're dedicated to learning something new every day and, above all, share it. - We partner: Every decision is a team decision. We trust each other. - We grow fast: We act fast. We think that the worst mistake is not learning from them. Wanna learn more about us? Check our website! Perks of being part of Factorial - High growth, multicultural and friendly environment - Competitive ESOP plan - Alan as private health insurance - Healthy life with Wellhub (Gyms, pools, outdoor classes) - Save expenses with Cobee - Language classes - Breakfast in the office and organic fruit - Food discounts with Nora - Pet Friendly - Much more that we'll spill during the interview process!
