About the role
We are looking for a
Tech Lead / Lead Engineer
to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for
AI and Machine Learning solutions.
This is a critical, enterprise-level role focused on designing and scaling reusable AI products that deliver measurable business value across complex, multi-tenant environments and multiple operating companies.
You will play a critical role in balancing
cost, risk, and time-to-value
ensuring scalable, reusable, and enterprise-grade AI solutions that can be leveraged across multiple operating companies.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for AI / ML solutions.
Lead the design of solutions adopted across multiple business units.
Provide hands‑on technical leadership across multiple squads, ensuring consistency and quality.
Develop and evolve technical blueprints enabling early value delivery and industrialization of AI products.
Simplify complexity ensuring seamless cross-company integration.
AI / ML Platform Ownership
Define the technical direction for AI / ML platforms including:
ML development and runtime platforms
MLOps pipelines and CI / CD practices
Ensure scalable and efficient routes to production.
Governance & Risk Management
Lead technical governance frameworks including:
Architecture standards and reusable components
Apply a data-driven approach to risk identification and mitigation
Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, guardrails, and auditability.
Innovation & External Landscape
Maintain an always‑on view of the AI ecosystem including:
Third‑party platforms and tooling
Evaluate cost‑benefit trade‑offs of AI technologies and implementation approaches.
Identify low‑cost, fast‑start solutions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with: AI Engineering Lead AI Labs (London & Barcelona)
Build relationships across enterprise stakeholders.
Translate complex technical topics into actionable insights.
Optimize internal adoption of AI products treating colleagues as customers.
Reduce friction in discovery, onboarding, and usage of AI solutions.
Model and manage adoption costs and ROI.
Community & Culture
Foster a strong community across the Group.
Partner with People & Culture to support AI Academy learning initiatives.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
15+ years in enterprise software engineering within complex environments.
Hands‑on technical leadership across multiple teams.
Strong background in AI / Machine Learning solutions, ML engineering and MLOps, Cloud‑based architectures and platforms (AWS).
Experience with CI / CD pipelines for data science and ML, third‑party AI platforms and tools, designing scalable, reusable systems.
Strategic and analytical mindset with strong business‑to‑technology translation skills.
Ability to simplify complex technical topics for senior stakeholders.
Communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
Strong focus on value delivery, ROI, and pragmatism.
Forward‑thinking, innovative, and continuously curious.
This position is Hybrid (2 per week to the office).
English is required (C1 level).
Travels every month to London.
