Position Summary Technical Specialist – Scientific Project Support (NGTs & CRISPR) will contribute to the technical coordination and scientific support of the project “Scientific advice on new genomic techniques (NGTs) and their potential use for the agrifood sector”, developed for the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The role involves technical responsibility in data structuring, validation and analysis, and scientific interaction with research centres and stakeholders under the supervision of the principal investigators. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the technical design and structuring of a national database mapping CRISPR and NGT‑related capacities across Spanish research centres. Validate and curate scientific and technical information collected from research institutions, ensuring consistency and accuracy according to project criteria. Act as a technical interlocutor with research centres for queries related to CRISPR and NGT capacities. Support the preparation of technical summaries and background documentation for project reports and meetings with MAPA. Participate in the organisation of meetings and workshops, providing technical input when required. Ensure proper documentation, traceability and updating of technical project information. Education, Training and Professional Experience Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Agronomy or other related scientific fields. A Master’s degree will be considered an asset. Demonstrated scientific knowledge of CRISPR and new genomic techniques (NGTs). Experience in scientific data management, information curation or technical project support. Ability to understand, organise and assess technical information from research environments. Proficiency in Spanish and English; knowledge of Catalan will be positively valued. Skills and Competencies Ability to work with technical autonomy within defined project objectives. Scientific rigor and capacity to apply criteria to technical information. Professional communication skills for interaction with research centres and institutional stakeholders. Strong organisational skills combined with technical judgment. Ability to work independently while coordinating with scientific staff. Working Conditions Contract Duration: Temporary contract.Hours per week: 20h.Starting date: As soon as possible.
