OverviewThe EMEA Energy and Water team is looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to support scaling and growth across our Data Centre network. You will help drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure to deliver large-scale water projects and water infrastructure renewals that enable sustainable operation. This role is available in Madrid, Zaragoza, London, Frankfurt, and Dublin.AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.Key job responsibilities- You will manage design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.- You will manage remote third-party project delivery teams from design through construction, facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success.- You will multitask and re-prioritize and effectively lead deliveries based on changing business needs.- You will build and maintain the overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior Leadership to secure finance for project delivery.- You will prepare investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to ensure water supply and discharges.Day in the life- Liaise with regulators and external stakeholders (water utilities, environmental agencies, health departments, construction contractors, etc.).- Leverage project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.- Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics versus commitments.- Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with.- Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future-proof water infrastructure.About the teamABOUT AWS:Diverse Experiences: Amazon values diverse experiences. When we feel supported at work and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.Inclusive Team CultureWe foster inclusion through employee-led and company-sponsored affinity groups, inclusion events, and bold ideas from diverse perspectives.Mentorship and Career GrowthWe’re committed to ongoing performance growth, mentorship, and resources to help you develop professionally.Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering/Economics/Business.- 10+ years’ combined experience delivering water design infrastructure and engineering solutions for capital-intensive projects across diversified industries.- Fluency in Spanish and English.- 3+ years of analytical and commercial experience reviewing utility tariffs, water projects, and contracts, plus 3+ years of managing project scope, business cases, and infrastructure requirements, drafting documentation, RFPs, and capital requests.- 7+ years of direct experience with construction, operation, or maintenance of water infrastructure across multiple global regions.- Advanced degree in Civil Engineering/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental/Economics.- Experience with fast-track design/build projects or multiple significant upgrade projects and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders with varied requirements.- Analytical mindset to identify gaps during project development, predict performance, and provide timely recommendations.- Business experience in Europe, LATAM, and/or Middle East.- 5+ years of program management, risk mitigation, and status reporting to management and internal customers.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
