About the role: As a Senior Backend Engineer, you play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems that support fundcraft’s platform. You work closely with cross-functional departments, including frontend engineers and product managers, to deliver robust backend solutions that align with business objectives. Your focus is on hands‑on development, ensuring the reliability, security, and maintainability of the platform, while addressing complex technical challenges in production. This is a position based in Spain and reporting directly to the Lead Backend Engineer. Key responsibilities: Implementing scalable, high-performance features and integrations between services in a high-demand system, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and seamless user experience. Develop, implement, and maintain end to end solutions using technologies such as Python, Django, DRF, FastAPI, Docker and AWS Cloud. Use AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code to help you write the code. Write automated unit tests and integration tests to validate backend functionality and ensure code quality and reliability.
