ppLocation: Barcelona, Spain. /p h3Job Description /h3 ul liSafety Navigation: Compliance with safe working practices and ensuring safe navigation during watchkeeping. /li liOperations: Safe and efficient cargo operations, comprehensive documentation, and general planning of deck maintenance and deck department operations. /li liAuthority: Issue and enforcement of appropriate permits to work. /li liShip Stability: Management of ship's stress and stability. /li liResource Management: Environmental management, ballast management, and garbage management. /li liCrew Management: Overlooking crew training and development, the crew appraisal process, crew welfare, and the crew disciplinary process. /li liMonitoring: Monitoring fresh water supply, quality, consumption, and storage. /li liEmergency Response: Coordination of emergency response at the scene of the incident and safe launching of lifeboats and rescue boats. /li liCulture: Speaking up if/when unsafe practices or conditions are identified, and ensuring crew compliance with safety and hygiene requirements at all times. /li liCompliance: Full compliance with the Company's SMS, EMS, and international standards and regulations. /li /ul h3Role Specifications Acts As /h3 ul liSubstitute for the Master: Ready to substitute for the Master when required. /li liWatchkeeper: Act as Navigational Watchkeeping Officer / Cargo Watchkeeping Officer. /li liShip Safety Officer: ul liEnsure implementation of safety policies and practices, including familiarisation of all crew and Behaviour Based Safety (BBS). /li liEnsure operation, maintenance, and service of all safety and emergency equipment, such as LSA, FFE, and Gas Detection equipment. /li liRegularly inspect and monitor all ship areas, and monitor crew for safe working practices. /li liEnsure maintenance of all cargo gear and report any defects to the Master and Chief Engineer. /li liReport any Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts, Accidents, and/or Dangerous Occurrences to the Master with recommended corrective actions. /li liEnsure Ship Safety Committee meetings take place according to company policy and submit minutes to the Head of the Committee (Master). /li liMust hold a recognised Safety Officer qualification before joining a tanker. /li /ul /li liShip Environmental Officer: Ensure and promote compliance with the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and all environmental regulations such as MARPOL, Flag State, and Port State requirements, maintaining the Oil Record Book Part II / Chemical Record Book (if applicable). /li liLeadership Roles: Serve as a role model for leadership and exemplary personal conduct, a Member of the Ship Safety Committee, and a Behaviour Based Safety Observer. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liDaily Administration: Assigning daily tasks to deck and catering personnel with regular follow-up and supervision. /li liHours of Rest: Controlling work and rest hours of Deck and Galley department personnel. /li liManeuvers: Supervising mooring/unmooring and anchoring operations when required. /li liBunkering Liaison: Liaising with the Chief Engineer with regard to stability and stress when bunkering. /liliInventory Control: Supervising the control and requisitioning of all inventory assigned. /li liSocial Environment: Actively promoting good working and social relationships on board. /li liTrading Area: Spanish mainland / Canary Islands. /li liRotation: 2 months on / 2 months off. /li liWorking Hours: 40 hours per week / 5 days a week. /li liDepartment: Deck. /li liReports to: Master. /li liNote: A Trainee Master will perform duties similar to those of a Chief Officer, as assigned by the Master. /li liNote: A Chief Officer assigned to "day work" duties only, performs a minimum of 6 navigation watches per month to maintain his navigational and ship handling skills. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
