About The Role
As a Commis Cook at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, you will assist the Chef de Partie and kitchen brigade in preparing ingredients, executing dishes to MOHG standards and supporting service across outlets and events. This is an excellent role to develop culinary skills, gain exposure to high-volume banqueting and fine dining production, and grow within a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Know all the recipes and preparation methods for your section so that you can prepare them easily and independently.
Operate and care for kitchen equipment safely; maintain clean and organised workstations.
Receive, rotate and store deliveries; assist with stock control and basic inventory tasks.
Adhere strictly to HACCP, food safety and allergen procedures; report any food quality issues.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive kitchen culture.
What We Expect From You
Culinary qualification or relevant vocational experience.
Minimum 1 year’s experience in kitchen roles, preferably within luxury hotels, fine dining or high-volume banqueting.
Good knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness and safe food handling (HACCP).
Strong teamwork, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and events as required.
Fluent in Spanish and English is preferred; other languages are a plus.
