Experteer Overview
As a Data Engineer on TheFork's Core Data team, you will design and build end-to-end data pipelines and evolve a self-service Data Platform (DPaaS) to empower domain teams. You’ll couple software engineering practices with data engineering to deliver trusted data products and enable a federated data ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with Architects, Staff Engineers and BI teams to shape the platform architecture and data governance. This is a hands-on role at scale, offering impact across data ingestion, quality, and observability while advancing the company’s data-driven culture.

• Design and implement production-ready data pipelines following software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, observability)
• Build data collection, ingestion, validation, and export pipelines for multiple sources using modern data stack tools
• Refactor Airflow orchestration to support scalability and maintainability
• Contribute to technical POCs to evaluate new technologies and architectural approaches for the platform
• Collaborate with Architects, Staff Engineers, and Engineering Manager to refine the target data architecture
• Implement data contracts and quality controls to meet defined SLOs
• Apply data modelling best practices including medallion architecture to create trusted data assets
• Support domain ownership models and single sources of truth per capability
• Ensure data lineage, observability, and metadata management are embedded in pipelines
• Build strong DevEx to enable self-service data capabilities
• Work with DataOps to leverage CI/CD and IaC practices
• Collaborate with BI and analytics teams as primary users of the platform
• Support onboarding of new data use cases and foster cross-team adoption
• Maintain strong cross-team relationships for platform improvement
Responsabilidades
• Data engineering experience with at least 3 years
• Strong Python skills for data pipelines
• Advanced SQL and performance basics
• Production-grade data pipelines experience
• Understanding of data modelling (medallion architecture)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
• Understanding of ELT patterns and transformations in analytical warehouses
• Experience with Airflow DAGs and orchestration
• Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Airbyte) is a plus
• Cloud infrastructure exposure (AWS S3, IAM); IaC (Terraform) is a plus
• CI/CD workflows and Git-based collaboration
• Data quality, validation, and observability practices
• Basic understanding of data governance concepts (PII, access control)
• Ability to break down complex problems and own end-to-end delivery
• Product-oriented mindset and cross-functional collaboration
