Demi Pastry Chef
Summary
Grand Hyatt Barcelona, one of the city’s newest luxury landmarks, we are seeking a creative, skilled, and passionate Demi Pastry Chef to join our exceptional Culinary team. If you have a strong foundation in pastry, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to create memorable gastronomic moments, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a world‑class environment.
This role is offered under a medical leave replacement contract.
What You Will Do
Craft Exceptional Pastries & Desserts: Assist in preparing and presenting high‑quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and aesthetics.
Support Daily Pastry Operations: Collaborate with the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie to execute daily production, maintain mise en place, and ensure smooth service across outlets and events.
Contribute to Culinary Innovation: Participate in creating new recipes, seasonal concepts, and special menus that reflect creativity, elegance, and the Grand Hyatt brand identity.
Maintain Quality & Safety Standards: Ensure all food preparation meets Hyatt standards, HACCP guidelines, and local health and safety regulations.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely with the broader culinary team, maintaining excellent communication and contributing to a positive and professional kitchen environment.
Organization & Efficiency: Keep work areas, equipment, and storage spaces clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in pastry or bakery, ideally in a luxury hotel or premium restaurant environment
Solid understanding of pastry techniques, both traditional and contemporary
Strong attention to detail and a passion for precision
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practices
Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable culinary moments
