Development Geology Advisor - MadridHigh Level Project DescriptionThe Development Geology - Technical Advisor role will provide outstanding technical work within the UTD-Subsurface team and contribute to our client’s exploration and development assets worldwide.The role involves active participation in field development planning, evaluation of new opportunities, and exploration and appraisal projects.Active interaction with other geoscientists, reservoir & production engineers, and petrophysicists is expected.The Technical Advisor will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, plan and implement geoscience technical activities in accordance with client RCM Manual, Safety and Environment Standards, and recommended practices.Extensive experience is required in geological evaluation for integrated reservoir characterization studies, 3D static modelling across multiple reservoir types and structural settings, and reserves evaluation and audit in accordance with industry standards.Reports ToSubsurface project coordinator or Development geology hub manager.Job DescriptionBuild 3D models (in Petrel) using state‑of‑the‑art workflows, solid geological concepts, and skilled integration of geophysical, petrophysical, and RE inputs.Ensure compliance with planning and global objectives for project development, company reserves, and business strategies.Implement and ensure the QA process and uncertainty evaluation for all development studies and technical activities carried out by the team.Ensure reports and supporting information are completed to the company’s technical standards.Report Technical Recommendations for ManagementProvide geological evaluation on reservoir characterization for quality assurance/control on field development planning, evaluation of new opportunities, and appraisal.Offer technical assistance to BU and project teams to apply best practices on geological reservoir characterization and multidisciplinary integration.Participate in or lead reservoir characterization projects, including modelling.Contribute to recommendations on acquiring new geological data to reduce development field uncertainty/risk.Assess, quantify, and communicate geological risks and uncertainties, employing uncertainty analysis and statistics.Experience in leading and coordinating digital initiatives for unconventional reservoirs.Education / QualificationsMaster’s in Science in Petroleum Geology or related field.Minimum 15 years of geomodelling experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).Proficiency in geological software: Petrel.Excellent written and oral command of English.Basic understanding of Spanish is advantageous.Required Behaviours & SkillsExtensive experience in reservoir geology across diverse reservoir types, structural settings, and basins worldwide.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and create integrated products.Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a broad range of technical specialists.Flexibility to rapidly adapt corporate RCM standards for static reservoir characterization and 3D modelling.
