Position Summary
UVic-UCC is a young and highly dynamic university in Central Catalonia committed to quality teaching, innovative research, and internationalisation.
The Doctoral School is responsible for organising academic and administrative management of doctoral studies and coordinating support services for doctoral students.
The Director of the Doctoral School will become vacant on 1 September and will lead the School, working with governing bodies and the Steering Committee.

Responsibilities
Represent the Doctoral School before the governing bodies of UVic-UCC and in all instances where required.
Chair the Steering Committee of the Doctoral School.
Propose to the Rector the appointment of the members of the Steering Committee.
Implement and ensure compliance with the decisions adopted by the Steering Committee.
Inform the Steering Committee of the actions carried out and arising from their position.
Lead and coordinate the School’s day‑to‑day activities and ensure continuity and compliance with the objectives defined in the UVic-UCC Strategic Plan.
Prepare the School’s annual budget and manage it in accordance with the general criteria established by the University’s Governing Council and the guidelines of management.
Prepare the annual report, action plan, and management report of the School for approval by the Steering Committee.
Supervise the academic and administrative management of the School.
Ensure compliance with the Code of Good Practice by all staff affiliated with the School and take appropriate action in the event of non‑compliance.
Ensure that the human and material resources of the School are suitable for the effective development of its activities.
Promote excellence and internationalisation in research activities and doctoral studies.
Define proposals for collaboration with other institutions and external centres and draft the corresponding agreements.
Perform any other duties assigned under university legislation and the internal regulations of UVic-UCC.
Qualifications
PhD in any discipline.
Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
Excellent command of English.
A minimum of three recognised research activity periods, in accordance with Royal Decree 1086/1989 of 28 August.
Experience in University Management.
Proven experience in research and knowledge transfer.
Other Requirements
Experience in the management of doctoral programmes.
Leadership and teamwork skills.
Stays at international institutions.
Knowledge of the UVic-UCC educational model.
Legal Equivalence Requirements
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post without official recognition of the qualification required in the call, you must submit a declaration of equivalence issued in Spain, together with a Spanish translation of your qualification. The same applies for professional services staff (PTGAS). The declaration must be submitted within a period of 3 years at most; otherwise, the contract will be terminated.
