Role: Engineering Manager Sector: AI Job Type: Full-Time Contract Type: Direct employment with our client Location: Hybrid in Barcelona Our client is a fast-growing AI company transforming complex operational workflows through cutting-edge AI and automation technologies. Their platform helps global enterprise clients automate customer service processes, improve response times, and deliver smoother user experiences at scale. By combining LLM-powered workflows, intelligent agents, and deep industry integrations, they are helping redefine how modern businesses operate. Following strong growth and increasing customer demand, they are now looking for an Engineering Manager to help scale their engineering organisation, drive delivery excellence, and build the foundations of a world-class technical team. What we are looking for 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years leading engineering teams Solid working experience in C++, python, Golang, Rust, Java Strong technical background with experience in distributed systems Experience mentoring, hiring, and developing engineers Exposure to AI products, LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, or similar technologies Strong understanding of software engineering best practices Experience in startup or scale-up environments Excellent communication skills in English What you will do Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed engineering team Work closely with Product to deliver the engineering roadmap Stay technically involved in architecture and key technical decisions Improve engineering processes, delivery, quality, and team performance Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership teams Help scale the engineering team and culture What type of person we are looking for Comfortable working in startup or scale-up environments Excited by building things from scratch and creating structure as the company grows Empathetic, transparent, and hands-on leadership style Strong communicator with both technical and non-technical teams Comfortable with fast-moving priorities and changing environments Pragmatic, proactive, and focused on delivery Passionate about coaching engineers and building high-performing teams What You Need To Do Next If this role sounds interesting and you believe your background could be a good fit, please contact me directly.
