As part of its continued international growth, the company is looking for anexperienced Director of Engineering & Constructionto lead its E&C activities acrossEurope and Latin America , based in Madrid - Spain.The RoleAs Director – Engineering & Construction, you willprovide strategic and operational leadership across the Engineering & Construction function , overseeing theplanning ,designand execution ofutility-scale renewable energy projects .
You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while developing a high-performing E&C team and strengthening the company's construction capabilities across its international portfolio.
This is a senior leadership position, combining strategic responsibility with hands-on involvement in project delivery and construction.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the Engineering & Construction strategyacross Europe and LATAM.
LeadanddeveloptheE&Corganisation , ensuring the right capabilities and resources are in place.
Workcloselywith theDevelopment and Commercial teamson new greenfield opportunities and project tenders.
Support the company’s growth strategy by strengthening its project execution capabilities.Engineering & Construction Delivery:
Oversee theplanning ,engineering ,constructionand completion ofrenewable energy projects.
Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timelines, budgets, quality requirements and technical standards.
Establish and implement effective project management and construction processes.
Monitor project performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.Team Leadership:
Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of engineering and construction professionals.
Define resource requirements and optimise the allocation of internal and external resources.Stakeholder & Project Management
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams, contractors, suppliers and other project partners.
Provide senior management with regular updates on project progress, risks and key decisions.Risk, Quality & Compliance
Identify construction and engineering risksand implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Ensurecompliancewith applicabletechnical , regulatory,health & safetyand quality standards.
Establish and enforce quality assurance processes across projects.
Drive continuous improvement in project execution, construction methodologies and operational efficiency.Budget & Resource Management
Oversee departmentalbudgetsandproject-related costs .
Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
Ensure resources, staffing and technical capabilities are aligned with the project pipeline.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Proven experience in a senior leadershipposition within Engineering & Construction / EPC.
Strong track record deliveringutility-scale solar PV projects .
Solidtechnicalbackgroundwithin the solar energy sector.
Strong knowledge of engineering and construction principles and practices.
Provenproject management experience , including responsibility for schedule, budget, quality and delivery.
Previous experience managing and developing engineering/construction teams.
Good understandingof relevant regulations, safety requirementsand industry standards.
International experience, ideally acrossEuropean and/or LATAM markets .
