Overview
Schneider Digital’s Privacy team within the Digital Certification, a Cybersecurity and Privacy implementation organization, is seeking a Privacy Expert to work closely with application teams to review our digital assets and ensure privacy compliance by performing reviews and when required, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). This role collaborates with cybersecurity teams, DPOs, legal teams, and business units across Schneider Electric.
Responsibilities
The Privacy Specialist will collaborate with application teams to ensure digital assets meet personal data protection and privacy regulatory requirements through privacy reviews and DPIAs.
Review digital assets to identify risks, provide mitigating actions, and ensure compliance, including:
Performing privacy compliance reviews and presenting findings to stakeholders.
Performing risk assessments to evaluate privacy risks for customers and the company.
Drafting recommendations with respect to data processing, minimization, transparency, retention, cookies, and other privacy concerns.
Advising on effective solutions for privacy by design and by default capabilities.
Work with Digital Certification, DPO, Data, Cyber Governance and other teams to develop templates, training and awareness materials to spur awareness & discipline.
Improve the review process and the tools used, identifying use‑cases and opportunities for automation of privacy reviews.
Research and analyze legal or regulatory requirements (including emerging privacy laws worldwide) to translate privacy rules and policies into actionable engineering requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in the privacy field, including performance of privacy reviews.
Law degree desirable, though candidates with other backgrounds will be evaluated.
Good knowledge of IT and understanding of technical requirements related to Privacy by Design.
Privacy and Information Security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CIPM) and knowledge of applicable privacy regulations and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, NIST CSF) desirable.
Relevant education or external accreditation in data protection, cybersecurity, audit, quality or risk management is a plus.
Strong communication skills (including technical communication) and collaboration skills are required.
Ability to handle complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks.
Strong organizational skills are required.
English fluency required; French fluency appreciated.
