Facilities Manager (Spain)

The Purpose
As Facility Manager (Spain), you'll own the Barcelona environment that enables OQC's people and technology to thrive. Leading our local Facilities Management function, you'll ensure our Barcelona workplace is safe, secure, reliable and ready to support OQC's continued international growth.
The Role
Sitting within Engineering Operations, you'll take ownership of facilities across OQC's EU headquarters in Barcelona. You'll lead everything from facilities implementatiion, safety and maintenance through to budgets, lease, suppliers and operational projects, building a scalable FM capability for a rapidly growing deep-tech business.
What You'll Be Working On
- Lead OQC's local Facilities Management function, ensuring our site is safe, secure, available and fit for purpose.
- Own facilities operations, maintenance, workplace standards, risk assessments and FM Health & Safety processes across the site.
- Manage FM budgets, supplier contracts and operational expenditure, ensuring strong commercial control and value.
- Own facilities projects from definition through delivery, managing scope, timelines, budgets and resources.
- Maintain exceptional workplace and facility standards across the site.
- Manage OQC's property lease, providers and associated forecasts, providing senior leadership with clear visibility of upcoming renewals, extensions and terminations.
- Build strong relationships with landlords, providers, agents, estates teams and suppliers while partnering internally with Supply Chain, Legal and Engineering Operations.
- Continuously improve FM OKRs and KPIs, using performance data to strengthen service delivery as OQC's global footprint grows.
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing a small to medium-sized local Facilities Management function.
- Hands-on experience managing medium-sized facilities in Barcelona with complex hardware or technical lab infrastructure, alongside office areas, showrooms and workshops.
- Experience managing local operational contracts and holding suppliers accountable for performance and value.
- Significant experience managing different sets of communities (engineers, visitors, partners, providers) and ensuring all works smoothly.
- Strong ownership of operational and capital budgets.
- Experience conducting, maintaining and reviewing risk assessments and working closely with Health & Safety specialists.
- Experience managing operational OKRs and KPIs.
- Strong budget management, contract negotiation, vendor management and external stakeholder management skills.
- Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence, organise and coach effectively.
- A relevant degree or equivalent industry experience, alongside relevant Facilities Management qualifications.
- Proven problem solving capability and ensuring company standards are always met.
- PRL, RD 486/1997, experience with local heating and cooling network (Districlima) or other relevant Spanish qualifications
- Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish are required.
The 'Nice-to-Haves'
- Experience managing facilities across multiple or international sites.
- Experience contributing to new facility delivery projects before sites transition into operation.
- Strong project management capability.
- Experience with Living Building Challenge, CORE certification or Green Lease.
- IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Fluent written and spoken Catalan.
