We are looking for a Farm Manager to take the lead in the day-to-day management of our experimental farms in Almería.
Buscamos un/a Farm Manager que asuma el liderazgo en la gestión diaria de nuestras fincas de investigación en Almería.
You will be responsible for all crop production and maintenance activities, including greenhouse preparation, sowing, transplanting, crop nutrition and irrigation, crop protection, disease and climate control, rotation planning, and general farm maintenance.
Serás responsable de todas las actividades relacionadas con la producción y el mantenimiento de los cultivos, incluyendo la preparación de invernaderos, siembra, trasplante, nutrición y riego, protección de cultivos, control de enfermedades y clima, planificación de rotaciones y mantenimiento general de la finca.
The work is performed in close collaboration with the Station Managers and the rest of the farm team, fostering strong communication and teamwork across all departments. You will also supervise and develop a large team of both permanent and temporary employees, ensuring motivation, efficiency, and a positive work atmosphere. You will be part of a highly skilled and stable farm team, where employees enjoy excellent working conditions and long‑term commitment, making the day‑to‑day work environment smooth, cooperative and rewarding.
El trabajo se realiza en estrecha colaboración con el Station Manager y el resto del equipo de finca, fomentando la comunicación y el trabajo en equipo entre departamentos. También tendrás la responsabilidad de supervisar y desarrollar un equipo numeroso de empleados fijos y temporales, garantizando su motivación, eficiencia y un ambiente de trabajo positivo. Formarás parte de un equipo de finca muy preparado y estable, donde todas las personas disfrutan de buenas condiciones laborales y un alto grado de compromiso a largo plazo, lo que hace que el trabajo diario sea más cómodo, fluido y agradable.
Aunque la experiencia en el sector de semillas se valora, no es un requisito necesario. Valoramos especialmente la experiencia en producción hortofrutícola o agrícola, sobre todo en cultivos como tomate, melón y sandía.
While knowledge of the seed business is appreciated, previous experience in seed companies is not required. We highly value experience in vegetable or fruit production, especially with crops such as tomato, melon, and watermelon.
Requisitos
Degree or Master’s in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture or related fields.
At least 2 years of experience managing farm operations in horticultural or agricultural production (seed business experience is not required).
Solid technical knowledge of vegetable crops, greenhouse systems, irrigation, and crop protection.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop teams.
Problem‑solving mindset and hands‑on attitude.
Fluent in English (B2).
Motivated, proactive and committed to long‑term growth.
