Syntax supports ERP deployments (Oracle, SAP) in secure private, public, or hybrid clouds and serves global customers with consulting, monitoring, and automation capabilities.Senior Manager, Global FinOps & Cloud Cost Governance (m/f/d) is a leadership role responsible for the development and global execution of FinOps strategy and operations across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. The role manages a distributed team of FinOps consultants across time zones, ensuring service delivery, financial governance, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal FinOps Strategy & Leadership: Lead Syntax’s global FinOps practice, manage a distributed team across regions and time zones; define and implement a standardized FinOps operating model; establish a FinOps Playbook; promote FinOps culture across engineering, finance, and customers.Multi-Cloud Financial Management: Harmonize FinOps methodologies across AWS, Azure, OCI, and private cloud; provide unified financial visibility; develop dashboards and KPIs; integrate hyperscaler cost models with Syntax cost structures.Global Delivery Standardization: Design standardized FinOps processes for global delivery; establish SLAs, reporting cadence, and escalation frameworks; implement QA and anomaly detection; automate FinOps workflows for scalable delivery and proactive cost optimization.Cloud Governance & Reseller Operations: Own and evolve Cloud Governance across hyperscaler partnerships; ensure alignment with governance policies and commercial frameworks; oversee billing reconciliation; manage Volume discounts, EA, and PPA; collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Resell Operations; develop governance dashboards and metrics.FinOps Advisory & Customer Engagement: Position FinOps as an entry point for Cloud Advisory; lead FinOps Assessments for cost optimization; collaborate with Sales to embed FinOps insights in proposals; provide guidance on cloud financial governance, cost allocation, and optimization.FinOps for AI and Cloud-Native Workloads: Expand FinOps capabilities for AI/ML workloads, GPUs, and containerized environments; monitor and optimize costs for Kubernetes, OpenShift, managed container services, and AI platforms; integrate cost governance into modern architectures.FinOps Data Standards & Tooling: Lead adoption of FOCUS (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification); evaluate and manage FinOps platforms (including commercial and hyperscaler tools); ensure data ingestion standardization; operate billing and cost analysis tools.Hybrid Cost Management: Extend FinOps methodologies to internal and hybrid data center environments; define cost models for compute, storage, and hosting; integrate internal services into customer dashboards for unified reporting.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field7–10 years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud economics, or cost optimizationExperience managing distributed teams across regions/time zonesStrong understanding of hyperscaler pricing models (AWS, Azure, OCI)Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid environmentsHands-on experience with FinOps tools (CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or similar)Experience in cloud governance, financial reporting, and cost optimization frameworksExperience in a cloud reseller/MSP/hyperscaler partner ecosystem; familiarity with billing reconciliation, EA, PPA, vendor credits, and discountsStrong stakeholder management across engineering, finance, procurement, sales, and leadershipPreferredFinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Professional certificationHyperscaler certifications (AWS, Azure, OCI)Experience with AI/ML cost governance or container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)Knowledge of automation, scripting, or data analysis tools (Python, SQL)Experience implementing FinOps in managed services, consulting, or cloud partner organizationsWhy Join SyntaxWork with a global cloud services leader supporting enterprise customersHelp shape FinOps in multi-cloud and AI-driven environmentsCollaborate with experts across cloud engineering, advisory, and financial operationsDrive innovation in cloud financial governance and cost optimizationBenefitsCompetitive compensation; flexible working time models; home officeMedical insurance with Sanitas; training and certifications (AWS, SAP, etc.); access to LinkedIn LearningTwo offices with garden; free coffee and soft drinks; kitchen facilitiesOnline language classes; canteen access
