Grid Engineer – Grid Optimisation (BESS) Sonnedix Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain Ready to power the future of energy storage? Join us as a Grid Engineer – Grid Optimisation (BESS) and play a key role in shaping how energy storage integrates into power systems across global markets. Based in Madrid, you will identify and optimise grid connection opportunities, lead technical studies, and ensure our BESS projects meet evolving regulatory and operational requirements. Working at the intersection of power systems engineering and the energy transition, you will collaborate closely with TSOs, DSOs, and cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, compliant, and future‑ready grid integration solutions. Ideal for an experienced electrical engineer with strong knowledge of grid codes, power system analysis tools, and BESS technologies. You will engage with international stakeholders, support multiple project phases, and leverage digital and AI tools to enhance technical analysis and decision‑making. Desirable skills Expertise in grid connection studies (load flow, short circuit, harmonics, stability). Strong knowledge of TSO/DSO requirements, grid codes, and protection principles. Proficiency with power system analysis tools (e.G., DIgSILENT, PSSE). Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. Analytical capability and digital/AI literacy to improve workflows and insights. Excellent spoken and written English; experience working in international or multi‑jurisdiction environments is an advantage.
