Position Summary
The Inspector I performs basic inspection work in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oil and fats terminals and refineries; and on board barges and ships following industry standards and procedures published by API, FOSFA, GAFTA and Saybolt.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist other inspectors and account managers in departmental duties.
Ensure efficient work at the location to meet client needs accurately and in a timely manner.
Work at various locations including offshore operations as requested by the company.
Develop port activity functions and, when required, offshore functions during the ordinary working day.
Operate the operation at the lowest possible costs while meeting safety, quality, and maintenance requirements.
Cooperate fully with department and managers on all assignments.
Follow all company procedures established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, and keep updated on all changes.
Report directly to Inspection Account Managers.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of experience as an Inspector or related experience.
Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and English.
Proficient user of MS Office.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Capable of performing all kinds of sampling and measurements; able to conduct inspections on vessels and shore under the supervision of a higher level Inspector or Account Manager.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
Inspectors must have a vehicle in good, safe operating condition that can be used on the job for both personal and sample transportation in all ambient weather conditions; vehicles used for sample transportation must accommodate secondary sample containers.
Maintain proper levels of automobile liability insurance and meet all state requirements for vehicles used for Saybolt assignments.
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments required.

This position resides within a normal office working environment. International travel will be required.
