The Internet of Things Research Area at the i2CAT Foundation is seeking an IoT Engineer to contribute to innovation projects.The successful candidate will join the IoT group to develop and implement IoT solutions and prototypes, evaluating them in real-world environments. This role offers opportunities to explore emergent IoT technologies from a practical perspective. The candidate will collaborate on current projects in areas such as :Enhancing communication and energy efficiency in IoT solutions.Implementing advanced sensing solutions for Smart Cities.Designing precise tracking and positioning solutions using IoT technologies like sensor fusion, RF, or Visible Light Communications.Developing future IoT smart environments and sensing solutions that leverage intelligence in resource-constrained devices, adapting to scenario needs, and enhancing user interaction.Main responsibilities include :Developing and implementing hardware and software/firmware prototypes.Deploying experimental testbeds to validate prototypes in controlled and real conditions.Creating tools and scripts for solution evaluation and monitoring.Writing technical documentation and project reports.Collaborating with other researchers and engineers on projects.The candidate should be able to work independently and proactively, demonstrating critical thinking skills.
