ppJob Title: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Psychology /p pLocation: Sydney, NSW, Australia /p pWork Type: Full Time (35 hours per week) /p pEmployment: Fixed Term – 2 years, Convertible Tenure Track (CTT) /p pSalary: Level B – $127,000 to $150,000; Level C – $155,000 to $178,000 plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading /p h3About the Role /h3 pThe Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C) will contribute to both teaching and research in the School of Psychology at UNSW. The role includes developing a research agenda that complements the School’s strengths, delivering high‑quality instruction in statistics and research methods, and engaging with students and staff across the Faculty. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDemonstrate and continuously develop a well‑defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning. /li liPlan, deliver and assess undergraduate and postgraduate courses in statistics and research methods in accordance with UNSW policy. /li liDesign and create learning activities and resources, and provide assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments. /li liInitiate the development of experimental approaches to teaching and learning of statistics and research methods. /li liSupport individual and cohort learning progression through consultation and general academic advice. /li liManage course administration as Course Authority, including academic quality assurance. /li liMaintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and relevant professional accreditation requirements. /li liContribute to School meetings and seminars; serve on School/Faculty committees as required. /li liEngage in individual and/or collaborative research in psychology, consistent with disciplinary practice. /li liProduce scholarly impact recognised by peers. /li liConduct research under limited supervision as part of a team, design research projects, and contribute to funding applications. /li liMentor and supervise HDR candidates, fostering the next generation of academics. /li liAlign with and demonstrate compliance with the Code of Conduct and Values. /li liAdhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. /li /ul h3Level‑Specific Expectations /h3 ul listrongLevel C (in addition to the above): /strong Apply a reflective teaching practice; maintain industry links; identify and apply for internal education funding; undertake independent research and achieve a nationally recognised track record; develop and lead specialist research groups; secure research income from competitive grants and research end‑users. /li /ul h3Selection Criteria /h3 h3Level B /h3 ul liPhD in Psychology or a related discipline. /li liDemonstrated commitment to keeping up to date with disciplinary knowledge. /li liExperience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of statistics and research methods at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. /li liExperience using educational technologies and online delivery methods. /li liEvidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence. /li liKnowledge of industry or experience in work‑integrated learning (desirable). /li liAbility to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. /li liTrack record of high‑quality, high‑impact research with a clear desire to achieve research excellence and leadership. /li liSignificant involvement with the profession and/or industry. /li liStrong communication skills and ability to network effectively. /li liAbility to work collaboratively across disciplines and build effective relationships. /li liHighly developed interpersonal and organisational skills. /li liCommitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, including relevant policies and guidelines. /li liKnowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attend related training. /li /ul h3Level C (in addition to the above) /h3 ul liDemonstrated success in curriculum development and improvement. /li liExperience with industry or work‑integrated learning. /li liExperience in recruiting and supervising high‑calibre students. /li liAbility to attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives. /li /ul h3Additional Information /h3 pInternational visa sponsorship is possible for the right candidate. /p pApplications close on 21 July 2026. /p pUNSW is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion.
