We are Applus+ Laboratories, the division of the Applus+ Group that provides testing, certification, and product development engineering services.Within the Materials and Mechanics area, we assess the properties of a wide range of materials, components, and structures for the aerospace, automotive, railway, wind energy, and other industries.Our experts support clients in the development of their products and in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.We are currently expanding and are looking for a Metallurgy Laboratory Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.What will your day-to-day look like?Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations of the metallographic testing laboratory.Manage, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment (optical microscopes, SEM, hardness testers, sample preparation equipment).Lead, train, and evaluate laboratory personnel.Support internal and external audits and accreditation processes.Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory methods, efficiency, and technical accuracy.Manage laboratory budget, consumables, and technical resource planning.What are we looking for?10 + years of experience in metallographic or materials testing laboratories, with proven experience leading teams.University degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or a related field.Strong managerial and leadership skills, including team development, planning, and coordination.Solid technical background in metallography, metallic materials, heat treatment processes, and international standards (ISO, ASTM, EN).Ability to drive quality, continuous improvement, and results, with strong analytical and decision-making skills.Professional proficiency in technical English and familiarity with relevant analysis software and office tools.What do we offer?Permanent contractFull-time position [with flexible start and finish times].23 days of annual leave plus 3 personal days.Flexible compensation plan (private health insurance, transport allowance, childcare, meal vouchers).On-site parking for employees.Green outdoor spaces, as well as yoga classes and other activities to promote well-being.Would you like to take part in highly technically complex projects?
