Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Oncology based in Barcelona to serve as the scientific reference for our oncology portfolio in the designated territory and as the first point of contact for any scientific projects. The role reports to the Oncology Medical Lead and will independently manage field activities, project execution, budget, and regulatory compliance.ResponsibilitiesField ActivitiesConduct mapping and profiling of key stakeholders, primarily Thought Leaders, within the assigned territory.Build and maintain close relationships with Thought Leaders to position Ipsen as a trusted scientific partner.Identify unmet medical needs and relevant regional insights, ensuring their effective communication to the appropriate stakeholders within the organization.Collaborate with Oncology Medical Managers to implement and monitor national and international medical projects and studies at the local level.Regional Plan and Budget ManagementLead the regional medical plan for both marketed products and pipeline assets within the Oncology area, aligned with the National Medical Plan.Monitor the regional medical budget and ensure accuracy of forecasts.Project ManagementManage medical projects included in the regional plan, ensuring timely execution and resource allocation.Providing Scientific InformationRespond professionally and timely to unsolicited, properly documented requests from the field and internal/external stakeholders, providing clinical and scientific information on disease‑specific questions, Ipsen oncology portfolio products and research programs.Scientific Knowledge Development and MaintenanceAct as the scientific expert for Ipsen’s oncology portfolio and relevant therapeutic areas within the designated territory, continuously monitoring emerging scientific evidence.Organize and coordinate regional Advisory Boards, ensuring key insights and relevant information are shared within the organization.Lead regional scientific exchange meetings.Support healthcare professionals, including Thought Leaders, with reactive and proactive scientific information and clinical data.Attend relevant scientific congresses to engage health‑care professionals, expand knowledge, and prepare scientific summaries for internal dissemination.Support internal knowledge dissemination on products and therapeutic areas, aligned with company strategic priorities.Maintain ongoing communication of best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing between medical teams and cross‑functional field teams.Cross‑Functional CollaborationMaintain close collaboration with local and global medical teams.Work closely with field teams, Commercial, and Market Access departments.Act as a scientific reference point for field teams operating within the same territory.Compliance and GovernanceEnsure all scientific support is balanced, up‑to‑date, accurate, and compliant with EFPIA codes, local regulations, and Ipsen SOPs.Maintain high professional and ethical standards in line with Ipsen’s SOPs, safeguarding the company’s reputation.Keep training records up to date.Participate in periodic review of internal SOPs to ensure compliance with current regulatory requirements.RequirementsUniversity degree in Biomedical Sciences, MSc, PhD, MD, PharmD.2 to 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs, including an MSL position.Experience in rare diseases is a plus.Expert/fluent communicator in Spanish and English.Strong leadership, communication, influencing skills, strategic thinking, analytical and numerical skills.Ability to build strong relationships and work in a team.BenefitsJoining Ipsen means becoming part of a global biopharmaceutical group focused on innovation and specialized care in oncology, neurosciences, and rare diseases.
