The Polymeric and Composites Processes Unit at Eurecat strives to improve compounding technologies and plastic processing carryingout research in plastics, composites, characterization, and analysis to enhance the design and get functional improvement. Our PCP unit open different positions for Materials, Mechanical or Mechatronics students who are interested in developing their bachelor/master thesis in the polymeric and composites processes domain. Environmental Impact: the main goal will be to understand the essential environmental factors in the plastic transformation industry preparing a simplified methodology with rough tabulated values to have an initial comparative evaluation. Post Industrial Recycled Polymers: the main goal will be to determine the re processability grade of polymers keeping main properties that guarantee their functionality trying to set a correlation between polymer properties and its re-processability. Post Consumer Recycled Polymers: in order to determine the influence of post-consumer recycled polymers coming from different batches or sources on the injection molding process the student will work to stablish a correlation between polymer properties and its influence on process stability. Embedded organic photovoltaic cells (OPV): in order to improve the embedded OPV performance through the addition of micro-texture on the plastic surface the student will work on studying the effect of different texture types on the OPV performance such as diffusive textures, fresnel lent and guide light textures. #J-18808-Ljbffr
