ph3Position /h3 pPost-training Specialist (RE2) /p h3Company Overview /h3 pThe Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain, hosting MareNostrum and serving as a hub for HPC research and service. /p h3Location /h3 pBSC, Directors Department, Barcelona. /p h3Key Duties /h3 ul liExecute and monitor post‑training experiments including Instruction Tuning and modern Preference Alignment methods (DPO, GSPO, DAPO, CISPO) specifically for Iberian languages. /li liImplement and scale training workflows using frameworks such as FastChat, TRL, and NeMo‑RL to ensure efficient model adaptation. /li liDevelop and curate high‑quality datasets in Portuguese, Spanish, and other Spanish co‑official languages including Catalan, Basque, and Galician. /li liPerform rigorous evaluation of model performance across regional linguistic nuances to ensure high‑quality generation and reasoning. /li liSupport the integration of linguistic specificities into the group’s general‑purpose models by collaborating with the senior engineering team. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liEducation: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field. /li liEssential skills: ul liFine‑tuning and post‑training of large language models /li liProficiency in Python and PyTorch /li liHands‑on experience with TRL, FastChat, or NeMo‑RL /li liFamiliarity with NLP tasks and evaluation metrics /li liExcellent level of English /li /ul /li liAdditional skills: ul liExperience with advanced preference alignment methods such as GSPO, DAPO, or CISPO /li liKnowledge of linguistic features and datasets for Portuguese and the co‑official languages of Spain /li liFluency in Spanish is highly valued /li liKnowledge of Catalan, Basque or Galician is a significant plus /li /ul /li liCompetences: ul liStrong analytical skills for identifying linguistic biases or performance gaps in regional languages /li liAbility to work effectively in a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment /li liProactive approach to staying updated on LLM alignment and efficiency trends /li liDetail‑oriented mindset for data quality and model evaluation /li /ul /li /ul h3Conditions /h3 ul liContract: Full‑time (35 h/week), open‑ended contract linked to project and budget duration. /li liBenefits: Restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support, flexible working hours, extensive training plan. /li liHolidays: 22 days of holidays plus 6 personal days and observances on 24 and 31 December per collective agreement. /li liSalary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and Barcelona cost of living. /li liStarting date: ASAP. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunity Statement /h3 pBSC-CNS is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
