Overview A postdoctoral position is available in the Biomolecular Nanotechnology Lab at CIC biomaGUNE, led by Aitziber L. Cortajarena, in collaboration with Multiverse Computing. The aim of this position is to develop an integrated computational–experimental platform that combines quantum-inspired algorithms and droplet-based microfluidics for immunotherapy research. The specific goal is to generate and experimentally screen libraries of immune checkpoint inhibitory peptides to accelerate the discovery of next-generation peptide-based cancer immunotherapies. A postdoctoral position is offered in the group of Prof. Aitziber L. Cortajarena (Biomolecular Nanotechnology) at CIC biomaGUNE, in close collaboration with Multiverse Computing, a European leader in quantum computing and quantum-inspired algorithms. The aim of this position is to develop quantum-inspired computational algorithms integrated with droplet-based microfluidic platforms for the discovery and optimization of immune checkpoint inhibitory peptides. The specific goal is to generate, prioritize, and experimentally validate large peptide libraries targeting key immune checkpoints, through a combined computational–experimental workflow. Selected candidates will be further characterized and integrated into modular protein scaffolds to generate multivalent therapeutic constructs. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the QUICK project (Quantum and microfluidic engineering to develop Immune ChecKpoint inhibitory peptides), cofunded by the GANTT Program of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council. This interdisciplinary project bridges quantum-inspired computation, protein and peptide engineering, microfluidics, and immunotherapy, aiming to establish disruptive technologies for next-generation cancer immunotherapies. Required Education Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field. Required Skills / Qualifications Hands-on experience in computational methods in protein design. Experience in experimental protein chemistry. Interest or experience in microfluidics, drug discovery, and high-throughput techniques. Curiosity-driven ability to independently plan and conduct experiments and contribute to multidisciplinary research. Good communication skills in English. Duration Temporary full-time contract with a duration of 1 year.
