Overview The Nanomalaria Group is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development of the new antiplasmodial compound YAT2150. The contract will be within the framework of one of the research lines of the Nanomalaria Group, whose objective is the characterization of the inhibition of protein aggregation as a novel mode of action of future antimalarial drugs. Main tasks and responsibilities Perform growth inhibition assays using Plasmodium falciparum and Leishmania infantum in vitro cultures. Conduct RNAseq, pulldowns and cellular thermal shift assays. Perform computational analysis of genomes and disordered protein regions. Analyze protein condensates formed through liquid-liquid phase separation. Generate knock-out P. falciparum and L. infantum lines using molecular biology approaches. Qualifications Degree, Master and Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology or related fields. Experience in cell cultures, including the culture of parasites such as Plasmodium or Leishmania. High proficiency in English (written and spoken). Ample experience in computational analysis of genomes and disordered protein regions. Proficiency in Cellular and Molecular Biology techniques. Proficiency in microscopy-based analysis of protein condensates formed through liquid-liquid phase separation. Excellent communication, teamwork, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with RNAseq and cellular thermal shift assays.
