MSCA candidate Do you want to develop your career understanding the role of polyP in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases? We are seeking a suitable candidate to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship in the September 2026 call. What we offer: An innovative research project combining molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and disease-relevant cellular models, in a dynamic and international scientific environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities. We will provide scientific guidance, institutional support, and feedback throughout the application process — and strong support for career development, training, and networking. We are a research group based in Barcelona , Spain, led by Josep Clotet and devoted to the study of polyphosphate (polyP) — a polymer of inorganic phosphate present in all living organisms whose roles in mammalian cells are still poorly understood, with emerging links to cancer, neurodegeneration, inflammation, and protein homeostasis. Find our latest relevant contributions: NAR 2026. Nuclear speckle dynamics are controlled by polyphosphate inhibition of CLK proteins. Methods 2025. Optimized biochemical method for human Polyphosphate quantification. Cell Rep 2021. Polyphosphate degradation by Nudt3-Zn2+ mediates oxidative stress response. Full publication list: Cell Proliferation Lab We are looking for a candidate with: A PhD in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, neuroscience, cancer biology, molecular medicine, or a related field. A strong interest in fundamental mechanisms of disease. Experience in cell culture, molecular biology, microscopy, protein analysis, or omics approaches. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A competitive scientific track record appropriate to apply to MSCA.
