Offer Description
We are looking for 6 predoctoral candidates to join one of the 10 priority lines of research defined within the strategic program accredited and funded by the program of units of excellence "María de Maeztu" (CEX***********-M), within the framework of the WP3 work package "Training, Recruitment & Internationalization".
Interested parties must indicate their chosen priority research line, according to the annex, and justify their suitability to it, following the instructions in this call.
A maximum of one candidate will be incorporated into each of the priority lines of research.

Responsibilities
As a predoctoral researcher you will be integrated into activity within one of the priority lines of research of the IPHES‑CERCA's Maria de Maeztu Program, under the supervision of a post‑doctoral researcher of the centre.
Your Duties Will Be To:
Develop an original research project within the chosen priority line.
Design and execute a work plan associated with your doctoral thesis.
Participate in the collection, management and analysis of data using up‑to‑date scientific methodologies.
Disseminate results through publications, congresses and other kinds of diffusion activities.
Participate in training, seminars and stays offered by the Maria de Maaetzu program.
Promote good practices in research, open science, scientific integrity and an inclusive gender perspective.

Requirements
Master Degree or equivalent in History (Prehistory), Environmental science (Earth science), Anthropology (Physical anthropology), Biological sciences (Zoology or Botany).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Geology, Biology or other disciplines related to the doctoral thesis project.
Not yet in possession of a doctoral degree or have started doctoral studies.
Meet the requirements to enrol in the Doctoral Program at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) for the ********* academic year.
Languages: ENGLISH Level Good.
Years of Research Experience: None (for History/Prehistory).
Additional Information – What we offer
Full 4‑year predoctoral contract in agreement with current regulations.
Registration in the URV Doctoral Program in Quaternary and Prehistory paid by the programme/aid associated with the project.
Financial support of up to €7,000 to carry out international research stays and advanced training activities, in the framework of the predoctoral training program.
Supervision and mentoring will be provided by the María de Maeztu program.
Access to a range of training activities, interdisciplinary seminars and international stays.
The acceptance of the offer will be formalised within 20 days of the publication of the final resolution.
Incorporation into the centre will take place no later than 6 months after the acceptance of the offer.
Eligibility criteria – Evaluation criteria
Criterion 1. Academic and scientific career (up to 50 points)
a) Scientific and technical contributions (up to 45 points): participation in research projects or activities, communications, posters, scientific publications, internships and scholarships linked to the priority line.
b) Mobility and international experience (up to 5 points): Erasmus stays, international scholarships and scientific activities.
Criterion 2. Adequacy of the profile and skills (up to 50 points)
Suitability of the profile and the Doctoral project to the chosen priority line of research.
Knowledge of English and other languages.
Key competences: Analytical and critical thinking, capacity for scientific communication, teamwork, planning, adaptability and continuous learning.
Selection process
The selection process will follow OTM‑R principles, ensuring fairness, transparency and merit.
The evaluators have signed the Declaration of Absence of Conflict of Interest (DACI), guaranteeing a transparent, impartial and objective selection process.
The Procedure Will Consist Of Two Phases
An external evaluation unit will carry out the first assessment of the applicants based on the submitted documentation and in accordance with the evaluation criteria specified for the call and the Guide for Evaluation provided by the IPHES‑CERCA Management Team.
Step 2. Final Review of the Selection Committee
2 members of the IPHES‑CERCA and 3 external evaluators appointed by the Management of the IPHES‑CERCA according to their expertise and objectivity.

Document explaining the proposal and its adequacy to the chosen line of research (maximum 2 pages, following indications in Section 7).
Copy of degrees and academic certificates (Documents in languages other than English, Spanish, Catalan, Italian or French must be translated into English).
A support letter from a potential supervisor must be listed in Annex (each potential supervisor can accept only one applicant).

Transparency and feedback for all applications
Following the OTM‑R principles, all of the applicants who apply for the call will receive a mail with the result of their candidacy, whether they have been selected or not.
Grievance mechanism
People who feel that the selection process has not been fair or transparent can submit a complaint by sending an email to ****** within 7 days after the notification of the results.
These will be assessed by the Selection Committee of the call.
