ph3About Pangea Aerospace /h3pWe are a company dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems for the space industry based on three key principles: high efficiency, sustainability, and reusability. We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground-breaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems. /ppOur goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which is essential to meet demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade. /ppWe are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology. /ppWe have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D-printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry. /ppWe are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team! /ph3Combustion Device Propulsion Engineer - Toulouse /h3pAbout the role: We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Engineer specializing in fluidic design and analysis to join our Combustion Devices team in Toulouse. This role is crucial in enhancing the development of thrust-generating subsystems across the company’s line of products. /ppWithin the Propulsion Department, you will play a key role in the design and development of Pangea Aerospace’s advanced cryogenic propulsion systems, supporting major programs such as our Aerospike Engine (Arcos) and staged combustion cycle developments. /ppYou will take responsibility for the design and analysis of full Thrust Chamber Assemblies (TCA) or major components such as injectors, combustion chambers, gas generators/preburners, and igniters. /ppYou will also contribute to the evolution of the Aerospike engine architecture, one of Pangea’s defining technologies. From early-stage design through hot-fire testing and validation, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, simulation, manufacturing, and test to turn concepts into reliable flight hardware. /ppThis is a hands‑on and technically demanding role, idóneo for an engineer who thrives on product ownership and wants to grow by contributing directly to the future of reusable and sustainable space propulsion. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliDesign and develop combustion devices, including injectors, chambers, preburners/gas generators, and igniters for LOX/methane engines. /liliTake ownership of the assigned hardware across its full lifecycle: design, analysis, testing, and qualification. /liliPerform analyses on performance, heat transfer, structural integrity and fluid dynamics. /liliSupport engine cycle architecture and system‑level propulsion design efforts. /liliPrepare and participate in test campaigns, and analyze resulting performance data. /liliMaintain and improve internal propulsion design and simulation tools (MATLAB, Python, etc.). /liliWork closely with manufacturing and test teams to ensure design feasibility and practical execution. /liliDocument design choices, results, and lessons learned to contribute to our growing knowledge base and design heritage. /li /ulh3What you need to be successful /h3ulliExperience in the design and analysis of chemical propulsion systems, ideally with cryogenic propellants (LOX/methane preferred). /liliStrong understanding of combustion physics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. /liliFamiliarity with regenerative cooling and other cooling techniques. /liliHands‑on experience in the design or analysis of Thrust Chamber Assembly components. /liliProficiency with simulation and modelling tools. /liliCAD proficiency and experience working in collaborative design environments. /liliA strong sense of ownership and initiative; you enjoy driving your designs forward. /liliFluent English and solid communication skills. /liliA curious mindset and a passion for new technologies in propulsion. /li /ulh3Other useful skills /h3ulliExcellent communication skills. /liliAbility to work in fast‑paced environment and adapt to evolving project requirements. /liliExperience with hot‑fire testing: planning, operation, or data analysis. /liliFamiliarity with aerospike engine architectures or unconventional nozzle designs. /liliExperience in CFD analysis. /liliUnderstanding of additive manufacturing and its design constraints. /liliProficiency in Spanish or French is a plus. /li /ulh3More about us /h3pWe are an international and very multicultural team.
